1999

Acquisition of 50% of the share capital of the Chilean company Industria Corchera, S.A., market leader in the supply of components for the wine industry, from equipment, capsules, muselets and barrels to natural cork stoppers, the last two being their main product line. This acquisition reinforces the company's historical connection to Corticeira Amorim, S.G.P.S., S.A., since business relations had existed between them for over 30 years and it enabled the former to be recognised, since the early 1980s, for the quality of the products it markets - as sole supplier to the Chilean wine market, and the latter to conquer a rapidly expanding high quality market.
