ROZ BARR ARCHITECTS chooses cork for the staircase project at the Building Centre, a hub for the built environment since 1931. As part of a gallery redesign, the project introduces a radical shift in sustainable materials, resulting in the world’s first suspended cork staircase. Following a meticulous selection process involving 48 jurors from 37 different countries, the international jury grants the top prize to Amorim Cork Italia’s initiative, which, since 2019, has been giving a second life to recycled cork stoppers.

Cork supplied by Corticeira Amorim used on the floor of  MONOCABs, a project that aims to offer a second life to existing railway lines in Germany’s rural areas. Cork endows lightness, comfort and thermal, acoustic and anti-vibration insulation to the vehicle. At the same time, the genuinely Portuguese raw material helps reduce the environmental footprint of this new means of transport.

Cork supplied by Amorim Cork Composites used inside the new Mobilize all-electric cars - the Renault Group's urban mobility brand. “Micro | Macro” is the name of the temporary pavilion designed by the Japanese artist, Ryoji Ikeda (1966, Gifu, Japan) for Serralves. It is the place for a sensory and mental experience, that the Portuguese architect, Nuno Brandão Costa, designed in an ephemeral architecture project, that solely uses eco-sustainable materials, including, in particular, cork supplied by Amorim Cork Insulation.

In this project, Amorim Cork Composites partners with Trampedach to create a three-dimensional interpretation of the Fibonacci Sequence. Built on a large scale, these pieces of cork furniture invite visitors to rearrange, climb and comfortably sit on them, offering firsthand experience of cork's unique tactile qualities, exhibited at Fabrikken for Kunst og Design as part of S.E.
