The distinction recognises his role in the company’s modernisation, technological innovation and internationalisation, as well as the ongoing commitment to sustainability, the circular economy and the valorisation of the cork oak forest (montado). It also reflects the work of thousands of people who, every day, contribute to establishing Portuguese cork as a unique natural resource and a driver of sustainable development.
Promoted by Banco BPI and Medialivre, with the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture and Sea and the support of PwC, the National Agriculture Award aims to recognise and showcase the best practices in Portugal’s agricultural sector.
Over more than a decade, the initiative has distinguished benchmark projects at national level, valuing their scale, capacity for innovation, creativity and contribution to the development of the sector. In this 14th edition, sustainability and innovation remain core pillars, highlighting the importance of agricultural production that balances environmental preservation with profitability, as well as the role of technological innovation in addressing current challenges.
