Guided by the principles that have always defined the company’s history, we carry this mission forward with the launch of Hearts of Cork, Amorim’s new social responsibility program. More than an initiative, it reflects our commitment to generating a positive impact on society and the planet, upholding ethics, sustainability, and collective well-being. We believe that every action counts. That is why, through philanthropy and corporate volunteering, we aim to transform solidarity into meaningful action and actively contribute to a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable future.
Reflecting the voices and aspirations of our employees, the areas of Health and Well-Being, Citizenship and Social Support, Environment and Biodiversity Protection, and Education and Development were identified as priorities and represent the causes that most strongly drive this project. This is a collective endeavour, supported by leaders and teams who believe that business success is only truly achieved when it also creates human and social value.
It reflects the spirit of mutual support that inspires us, engaging our employees’ time, energy, and skills in support of social, environmental, and community causes. We want everyone to feel empowered to make a difference. Because when we help others, we grow as individuals and as professionals.
Our business activities have always been closely connected to local communities, fostering mutually lasting and meaningful relationships. Responsibility and solidarity are at the heart of our culture.
On this subject, we have listened to your ideas and motivations, and the results are inspiring: 100% of our people consider social and environmental initiatives important, particularly in areas such as Health and Well-Being, Citizenship and Social Support, Environment and Biodiversity Protection, and Education and Development.
Hearts of Cork responds to this recognition and extends our commitment. Together, we aim to go further and create a lasting positive social and environmental impact. In partnership with credible and responsible organizations dedicated to these causes, we will organize a variety of volunteering activities.
Hearts of Cork is also a call to action - for all of us - to help build a better future: one that is more resilient, cohesive, and compassionate.
The Cork Oak Planting is truly the ‘apple of my eye.’ As the organizer, I want to extend my gratitude to the Board, who have supported this initiative from the very beginning. Without that first seed, we would not have achieved today’s visible results, with thousands of cork oaks planted and the participation of thousands of volunteers over the past 14 years. This year [2025], we will return to Rio Frio, where 200 volunteers will plant another 4,000 cork oaks.
It is incredibly rewarding to end the day and see everyone’s engagement, to witness on colleagues’ faces the natural tiredness of the day as well as the joy of having contributed to something they truly believe in. That is the true success of this initiative. It is the willingness of people to take action for nature and leave a legacy for future generations. Without these hands, nothing would be the same, believe me.
This is my 14th participation, yet I approach it every time as if it were my first, with the same enthusiasm. Today, I truly believe we have become a real ‘family.’ There are dozens of colleagues who have joined me since the very first edition, and that is priceless. It is with a full heart that I thank everyone for their collaboration. Without them, it would not be possible to continue this beautiful journey.
It is inspiring to be part of a company that not only produces, but also cares. And for me, caring is a verb that should always be emphasized.
I believe that no matter how small the gesture is, if it touches one person, it is already worth everything. In these moments, I feel bigger, more complete, as if the world fits into that simple act of being present. The curious thing is that I go to help, but I always return with the feeling that I have received more than I gave. Because being there for others is, more and more, the most beautiful and authentic way to be myself.
It represents a genuine commitment to the community and serves as an example of social responsibility, showing that the company goes beyond the daily routine and truly seeks to be present in people’s lives.
On a personal level, I feel highly motivated and fulfilled to be able to contribute to meaningful causes. Volunteering helps me grow as a person and strengthens my pride in being part of a company that values the common good.
