State-of-the-art trains, lighter buses and aircraft, which are more comfortable and eco-efficient as a result of cork, are the projects in which Corticeira Amorim is fully involved. One of the most recent and innovative projects is the surface metro Inspiro, designed by Siemens to be the most modern, efficient and sustainable in its class. The new metro, recently introduced in Poland, combines design with cutting-edge technology and uses less energy, as a result of a series of efficiency measures.

ISEAT Project – the development of intelligent railway carriage seating for long distance and high speed trains, using solutions which are more integrated, lighter, comfortable and environment-friendly, such as cork.
EcoTrain Project – the development of new cork composite components for state-of-the-art trains. The cork is applied to the flooring, partitions and side panels.
IBUS Project – an innovative concept which is more eco-efficient for tourist buses. The luggage compartment incorporates a composite with a cork core, which increases resistance and reduces the weight of the luggage compartment by up to 50%. The same type of composite is applied in side panels, with improvements in thermal and acoustic insulation. The flooring, sandwiched in cork, is lighter and has better insulation properties, compared to the traditional and heavy plywood.
LIFE Project – sunder the concept of the executive aviation of the future, a cabin of an innovative, comfortable and sophisticated aircraft emerges. Solutions and cutting-edge technology are combined with natural and sustainable materials, such as leather and cork - advanced composite materials and cork leather.
Corticeira Amorim has an experience of over forty years in supplying thermal and anti-vibration solutions to the market of electrical power and distribution transformers. Cork dust can also be used to generate energy. Corticeira Amorim itself meets over 60% of energy needs by using this type of biomass.
