FLOOR & WALL COVERINGS
World leader in producing and distributing floor and wall coverings made of cork and cork with wood.
The Floor and Wall Coverings Business Unit dates back to 1978, with the creation of Ipocork - Indústria de Pavimentos e Decoração, S.A., a factory for producing parquet that incorporates cork. Amorim Revestimentos, formed in January 1996, arose out of the merger of Inacor, S.A. and Ipocork, S.A. This Business Unit, currently made up of two industrial units located in Portugal (district of Santa Maria da Feira), makes available high quality products that provide innovative flooring solutions of unbeatable quality. By combining traditional production methods with the most recent technology, Amorim Revestimentos produces distinctive, elegant, resistant and comfortable floors, using a material whose qualities cannot be bettered by science and do not harm the environment – cork. Using the raw material cork makes its floors unmistakeable when compared with any others that exist in the market.

Nowadays, Amorim Revestimentos has exclusive manufacturing technology and a multinational distribution network that lets them know and, acting in advance, meet the needs of their Clients. This strategic positioning, along with its action to promote the use of cork coverings and their active programme to develop new solutions, guarantees the success of their activity and high penetration of their products in the most demanding markets. The Floor and Wall Coverings Business Unit is recognised as a leader because of the quality, innovation and unique characteristics of their solutions for interior decoration (technical performance, design and comfort). The coverings produced in this Business Unit constitute a unique sales proposition in themselves: easily and rapidly installed (namely non-glued products with the corkloc tongue and groove system); environmentally friendly – made out of natural products, they favour energy saving (insulating capacity, heat retention); healthy – surface finishes do not retain dirt, therefore they do not favour the proliferation of germs and fungi; sound resistant – they reduce the transmission of sound between and inside compartments (impact noise and step noise, respectively); they provide natural thermal insulation, as well as a high capacity to retain thermal energy, thanks to the incorporation of cork; comfortable – the cork incorporated into them deadens impact and relieves tension; durable and easy to maintain but low impact on the environment; re-usable (in tongue and groove system) or recyclable.
The Business Unit’s offer, aimed at domestic use (distributed to wholesalers, retailers, DIY segment) and professional use (prescribed), encompasses a vast range of products: cork floor coverings –cork or wood look, applied with glue or tongue and groove; non-cork floorings – laminates or wooden parquet.
